Hi, I'm Sandra 💚
I'm a London-born gal who's called Peterborough home for over 25 years, with 40+ years' experience living with and caring for animals. After years as a personal trainer and teaching assistant, spending time giving dogs the love they deserve on the side, I finally opened the doors to Sandra's Place.
I'm barely 5ft tall, but don't let that fool you, when it comes to animals I don't do things by halves. I'm fully insured, hold a Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming, Walking & Training and diplomas in Animal Care & Dog First Aid, and I only ever walk up to four dogs per walker for maximum safety and fun. I'm also a member of Peterborough Pet Professionals, a local group of pet walkers, sitters and trainers.

Boarding and day care guests stay in my own family home, licensed and inspected by Peterborough City Council. Fully enclosed gardens, safety gates, fire guards, and absolutely no closed cages* – just sofas, sunshine and company.

* Crate doors are only ever closed if that's what your dog is used to and their parent prefers it.

Home boarding and day care are open to anyone who can drop off and collect their pup, including further afield places like Stamford, Market Deeping, Bourne, Spalding, Crowland, Barnack, Alwalton, and even as far as Grantham, since distance only matters for walking, not for a drop-off and collection.

Do you offer regular dog walking in Peterborough?
Yes, dog walking is one of my main services and always has been. A 30-minute walk is £10 and an hour is £16 during the week, or £15 and £24 at weekends. Groups are kept to four dogs per walker at most, so every dog gets proper attention and the walk stays calm.
Walking is the one service I keep local, since travelling further afield for a regular walk wouldn't work. I cover anywhere in Peterborough and the nearby villages of Ailsworth, Castor, Eye, Glinton, Helpston, Marholm, Newborough, Sutton, Upton and Walton. Weekday slots do fill up, so message me to check what's free.

I'm based in Peterborough. Dog walking covers anywhere in Peterborough and the nearby villages of Ailsworth, Castor, Eye, Glinton, Helpston, Marholm, Newborough, Sutton, Upton and Walton. Are you licensed, insured and qualified?
Absolutely. Sandra's Place holds a council home boarding licence rated to the Higher Standard (Licence No. 132982) and is fully insured. I also hold a Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming, Walking & Training, along with diplomas in Animal Care and Dog First Aid, and I'm a member of Peterborough Pet Professionals, a local group of pet walkers, sitters and trainers. Your dog's safety is my number one priority.
What's in place to keep boarding dogs safe in your home?
My home is licensed for home boarding by Peterborough City Council and meets their Higher Standard, which includes an assessment of animal safety in the home. In practice, that means:
- Fully fenced and enclosed front and rear gardens
- Safety gates between rooms
- Doors between rooms kept closed as required
- A separate enclosed patio off the main garden
- Fire guards
- Emergency spare keys and contact details

How do I book, and what's your cancellation policy?
The easiest way to book is to message me on Facebook. When you first get in touch, I'll walk you through everything so you know exactly where you stand, including my full Service Agreement for you to read.
Cancellation is simple: give me 48 hours' notice or more and there's nothing to pay. A no-show without any warning is charged at 50% of the booking, and for boarding stays longer than one night the £50 deposit is non-refundable.
